A and E factory service was sent out to work on my Whirlpool ice maker under Warrenty. It’s difficult when the time window they give you is from 8am to 5pm. It requires you to block off the entire day. However, that is not even my main complaint, as I understand it is hard to estimate how long each repair on the schedule for that day will be. My main complaint starts with the first service man that came out. He called me from the driveway when he got to my house wanted me to open the garage for him to walk through instead of coming to my front door and ringing the doorbell. He wasn’t carrying anything big, bulky or heavy in with him so I’m not sure why he couldn’t just ring the doorbell. Then he NEVER even touched the ice maker. My husband attempted to show him the kind of problems it was having but he never opened the door to it or looked at it at all. He said it was the fan and he would order a new one and then scheduled for a week later to come back and put it jn.
The following week I again cleared an ENTIRE day and a different gentleman came this time. He was very respectful but after working for sometime he said my ice maker was installed wrong and he couldn’t get it pulled out from under the cabinet to work on it. He said after we got it out to call and schedule for them to come back and put the fan in.
So as soon as my husband came home he unhooked the drainpipe and pulled the ice maker right out. There was NO misistallation. So I called back and tried to schedule again and they had closed my claim saying the repair was done 😡
I opened a new claim and started the process again. The warranty company said they would have A and E dispatch call me to schedule a time to come out again. They did not call, after three days I got a text stating when my appointment would be which was on a day that did not work for me. It was also an entire week away!!! I attempted to call and get online trying to talk to a person so I could explain I have an ice maker sitting in the middle of my kitchen because their repairman couldn’t get it out and then left without fixing it and I need an appointment quicker than a week away but I could not ever get a real person on the phone. So I rearranged my whole schedule to make the week away appointment work and their repairman came out and put the new fan in. The fan did not fix the problem and the ice maker still won’t make ice and is now groaning and making a horrible noise. I called once again and the Warrenty company was so apologetic and said they would try to set me up with a different company since A and E had been out 3 times now and it wasn’t fixed. Unfortunately they couldn’t and I received a text from A and E again telling me when my appointment would be instead of calling me and working with me on dates. I arranged YET again for an entire day of availability so their service man could come out. He called me around 11:30am and asked me questions about the ice maker and said he would be coming in the afternoon so I have him my
Husbands number since we were switching off trying to be available for the whole day. He called my husband and said he would be at our house at 1pm. My husband was home. The ice maker is still in the middle of my kitchen and the repairman NEVER showed up. First thing the next day at 7:15am I tried to call A and E and could not get a person to speak to but the recording said my appointment was scheduled for next week. So I decided to call the number the serviceman had called from. He answered and I explained who I was and asked why he didn’t come during my service time since he said he would be here at 1pm.
He said his supervisor sent him somewhere else. I asked why I wasn’t told the schedule was changing and he said his supervisor was supposed to tell me. I said he did t and asked to speak to his supervisor and he said he wouldn’t give me the number because then he would get terminated. He said he would call his supervisor and ask what was going on and call me back. He did and said his supervisor said he WOULD NOT speak to me that I was sent and email.
I was never sent an email and even if I was did I not deserve a phone call to say they weren’t coming. I had to be available all day for them and this now for the 4th day.
This is ridiculous. I am still searching for someway to speak to a manager/supervisor of some sort from A and E. So far I’d give this company a negative 5 star review if I could!!! IF they can somehow make this right with me I will happily change my review but until then beware of this company with less than capable revive men and supervisors that WONT speak to customers after being stood up on their appointments!!!!
